The Plymouth Coffee Bean Co., residing in a converted house that is over 100 years old, opened its doors in 1993 and is Michigan’s longest running independent coffee shop; currently owned and operated by the Hynes family.

With over 25 years of experience, we’ve gotten pretty good at what we do – from coffee, to food, to people.

 

We offer traditional and modern espresso drinks using beans roasted locally by Coffee Express Roasting Company, made from scratch crepes, and a large assortment of gluten free baked goods from Rumi's Passion. Almost everything we offer is either made in house, or sourced locally from small business just like ours.

 

As a cafe, we're also a social hub. Every week we hold events such as concerts, open mic's, poetry nights, and art activities to give back to our community in a way that fosters connection and relationships.

Even though 884 Penniman Avenue – with its painted plaster walls, trimmed doorways, and worn wood floors – stopped being a family's house a long time ago, it has never stopped housing a family. So, grab a seat on the couch and make yourself at home; we can't wait to see you.
